How do I choose the right sewing pattern size?
Compare your measurements to the size chart provided by the pattern designer, never to your usual ready-to-wear size: a size 40 from one designer doesn't necessarily match a size 40 from another.
What measurements should I take before buying a pattern?
Three measurements are usually enough: bust (the fullest part of the chest), waist (the narrowest point, above the belly button), and hips (the widest point, about 20 cm below the waist). Take them with a soft measuring tape, wearing fitted underwear, without pulling tight.
If my measurements fall between two sizes, which one should I pick?
For a top or dress, prioritize your bust measurement. For a skirt or trousers, prioritize your hips. When in doubt, size up and adjust while sewing, or make a quick test version in cheap fabric before cutting your final fabric.
The pattern's size chart uses a different unit (inches, US/UK sizing...) — what do I do?
Some pattern designers use inches or a numbered sizing system (like US 6, 8, 10) instead of centimeters. Don't try to convert it to your everyday clothing size: always go by the size chart provided on the pattern listing and compare it directly to your own body measurements.
Craft Templates (Accessories & Props)
How do I use a craft template (armor, horns, accessories)?
Print the template at the scale indicated, cut the pieces out of paper, then trace the outlines onto your EVA foam, cardboard, or Worbla before cutting the final material. Unlike a sewing pattern, there's no sewing involved: just tracing and cutting.
What's the difference between a sewing pattern and a craft template?
A sewing pattern gives you fabric pieces to assemble by machine or by hand, with seam allowances included. A craft template gives you an outline to trace onto a rigid or semi-rigid material to build an accessory or prop, with no sewing step at all.
PDF Files & Printing
How do I print a PDF pattern at home without distorting the scale?
In your print settings, always choose "Actual Size" or "100%", never "Fit to Page". Before printing the whole file, print only the page with the test square and measure it with a ruler: it should be exactly the size stated (usually 5x5 cm or 10x10 cm, depending on the pattern). If the square is off, fix your print settings before continuing.
How do I assemble the pages of a pattern printed at home?
Once all the pages are printed at the correct scale, trim the margins indicated (usually on the right and bottom of each sheet), carefully line up the markers, then tape the horizontal rows together first, followed by the columns.
Can I get a pattern printed in large format (A0) at a print shop?
Yes: most PDF patterns also include an A0 version (one large sheet) alongside the A4 version you assemble yourself. You can send it straight to a professional print shop or an online printing service to skip the assembly step.
How much does an A0 print cost at a print shop?
Prices vary by provider and by country. The safest approach is to ask a local print shop or copy service for a quote directly, or compare a few online printing services before sending your file.

Are digital patterns refundable?
No. Like any digital product delivered by download, PDF patterns can't be refunded once the file has been sent. Double-check the design and size before you buy.
Can I sell a costume or prop made from a pattern I bought?
It depends on the license set by each designer (Filibert Patterns, TheDodoCosplay...). Always check the usage terms listed on the product page before any commercial use. If you're not sure, contact us and we'll help you figure it out.
What if I can't find my file after purchase?
First, check your emails, including spam: the download link is sent automatically after purchase. If you still can't find it, contact us with your order reference and we'll send you access to your file again.
